Public Notice: Stage II Water Conservation – Mandatory Reductions

May 11, 2026

Due to ongoing drought conditions, the Catawba Wateree Water Management Group (CWWMG) has declared Stage II – Mandatory Water Conservation Measures, effective May 1, 2026.

The Town of Ranlo is required to reduce water usage by approximately 10%. To meet this goal, we kindly ask for the following limited water usage for all customers:

Limit Outdoor Water Use:

– Lawn irrigation to two (2) days per week. Irrigation should be between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM

– Washing of vehicles at home (commercial car washes are encouraged)

– Washing of driveways, sidewalks, or parking areas

– Filling or refilling swimming pools

– Operation of ornamental fountains without recirculation systems

Required Conservation Measures:

– Repair all leaks (faucets, toilets, irrigation systems) promptly

– Limit water use for non-essential purposes

– Restaurants are encouraged to serve water only upon request

– Businesses should reduce non-essential water usage where possible

Town Operations:

– The Town splash pad will remain closed until further notice

– Washing of Town vehicles has been suspended

– Public Works crews are prioritizing all water leaks as emergency repairs

These measures are necessary to preserve our water supply and maintain system reliability during drought conditions. Additional restrictions may be implemented if conditions worsen.

We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to conserving water
