The Planning and Zoning Department administers land use regulations, manages the development review process, and works to guide responsible growth in the Town of Ranlo.

About This Department

The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for administering and enforcing the Town’s development ordinance, reviewing permit applications, and providing staff support to the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment.

The Ranlo Board of Commissioners adopted a revised development ordinance on June 30, 2022. The full ordinance, including all articles, the Table of Uses, and zoning map, is available in the Forms & Documents section.

Permits & Applications

Building permits, zoning permits, and related applications are processed through the Planning and Zoning Department. Contact Town Hall at 704-824-3461 to discuss your project or to request an application.

Planning Board

The Planning Board meets regularly to review development proposals and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Meeting schedules and agendas are posted in the Meeting Records section.
